Halley Movement, which is an elected member of General Assembly of AU ECOSOCC together with H.H. Denise Kodhe, Presiding Officer of African Union ECOSOCC and representative of ANPRAS participated at the African Continental Free Trade Agreement in Mauritius in March 2020.
Halley Movement paid a courtesy visit to the acting President of the Republic of Mauritius on 17th March 2020 to discuss key issues affecting children in Mauritius. H.H Mr. Eddy Boissezon, acting President of the Republic of Mauritius promised to take the conversation and proposals to the relevant ministries. Halley Movement was accompanied with representative from Defence for Children International – Mauritius at State House, Le Reduit.
Mauritius Internet Governance Forum
Mauritius Internet Governance Forum 2019 (IGF) is a multi-stakeholder Forum that encourages dialogue between State and Non State actors on the importance of Internet Governance. Halley Movement has organised a similar Forum in 2017, 2018 and 2019 is the third edition of the Mauritius Internet Governance Forum.
The Mauritius Internet Governance Forum 2019 will be held on 26th of August 2019 in Mauritius. As in the previous years, the Mauritius IGF will see the participation of various international experts in the field of Internet Governance and Children’s Rights.
The theme for the Maurituis IGF 2019 is “Internet Governance: Impact of Internet on Online Child Sexual Exploitation” Speakers and participants will include representatives of civil society, ISPs, academia, media and private companies working in the field.

In light of the 50th Independence Anniversary of Mauritius, Halley Movement is hosting a Free Legal Advocacy Day on Child Protection.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet directly with a team of lawyers and ask questions.

The event was hosted by Halley Movement and PAN-Mauritius Coalition and took place at Flacq in Mauritius.
It regrouped eighty leaders from different backgrounds. The launch ceremony witnessed the participation of one MLA and various other guests. The plenary session discussed themes pertaining to Internet & Child Trafficking and Good Digital Parenting, among others.
Leaders took back the resource materials in order to spread the message in their own communities.
Halley Movement has planned a Training Workshop on Good Digital Parenting for ‘Home Stay’ Mothers on Wednesday 23rd August 2017. The Workshop will take place at Le Morne Community Centre, Le Morne, Mauritius.
This training workshop for ‘Home Stay’ Mothers will focus on the following topics:
- The need for digital parenting in our society
- Digital parenting in practice
- How to identify risks and where to address complaints
- Reporting of online problems

Halley Movement together with PAN-Mauritius Coalition will launch the Mauritius Colloquium on Internet and Child Trafficking on Saturday 23 September 2017 in Mauritius. The Mauritius Colloquium is expecting participants from the civil society, business sector and stakeholders involved in the field. The Colloquium will gather experts in ICT, tourism, Child protection and lawyers.
