Job Title: Communication & Social Media officer

Port Louis, Mauritius | Full Time | 

Job Summary:

Halley Movement is looking for a talented Communication & Social Media Officer to manage and enhance the NGO presence both online and offline; to create engaging and creative multimedia content showcasing our activities. This position requires expertise in video editing, graphic design, and animation.

Job Description:

  • Ensure all activities requiring public attention are communicated effectively to the media, partners, and published on our websites.
  • Prepare and distribute press briefs before, during, and after key activities.
  • Brief volunteers on upcoming activities and events.
  • Create compelling videos that highlight Halley Movement’s activities. Many videos will feature animations, graphics and music, and voiceovers, with some including live-action recordings.

Requirements:

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in digital communication tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Highly presentable, well-spoken, and dynamic.
  • Must be proactive and self-driven.
  • Excellent video and picture editing skills.
  • Strong graphic design instincts and experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital trends and metrics.

Working Style:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of setting and maintaining clear boundaries.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
