Discussions to Enhanced Anti-Trafficking Measures

Halley Movement Welcomes IOM Consultant to Discuss Enhanced Anti-Trafficking Measures.
Halley Movement recently hosted Mr. Rui Oliveira Reis, Consultant from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), at its office in Port Louis. The meeting focused on fostering a more integrated approach to identify, refer, and protect victims of trafficking in persons (TIP), as well as to prosecute offenders in the Republic of Mauritius.
This visit forms part of the ongoing initiative led by IOM in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office: “Enhancing the 4Ps Approach to Counter-Trafficking in Mauritius.” The 4Ps — Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, and Partnership — are at the heart of this project, which seeks to strengthen a whole-of-government response to eliminate human trafficking in Mauritius.
The key objective of the project is to support national efforts in building a more coordinated and effective framework for combating trafficking. This includes developing strong partnerships among stakeholders, improving mechanisms for victim identification and referral, ensuring comprehensive protection measures, and strengthening the prosecution of traffickers.
Halley Movement remains committed to contributing to these national and international efforts to combat human trafficking and ensure the safety and dignity of all individuals in Mauritius.
