Safer Internet Day 2026

Safer Internet Day 2026 will take place on the 10th of February 2026, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’.

On Safer Internet Day 2026, Halley Movement & Helpline Mauritius join global and local efforts to promote safer and more responsible use of technology.

Through awareness-raising, guidance and accessible support, the service helps empower young people and families to make safer choices online, cope with digital risks, and know where to seek help if they encounter cyberbullying, scams, or harmful interactions on the internet.

Helpline Mauritius is a free, confidential, one-to-one counselling and support service operated under the Halley Movement to help children, adolescents, young adults and families deal with challenges they face online and offline.

The service plays an important role in Safer Internet Day 2026 by offering trusted guidance, emotional support and practical advice related to internet safety, responsible online behaviour, digital wellbeing, cyberbullying, social media risks, and other issues connected to using the internet responsibly.
