Mauritius IGF 2025 Officially Launched: A Milestone for Digital Innovation and Inclusivity
The 9th edition of Mauritius Internet Governance Forum (MIGF) 2025 was officially launched on April 5th, 2025, by the President of the Republic of Mauritius, alongside the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, and the UN Resident Coordinator for Mauritius and Seychelles, a.i. Also in attendance were the the Ombudsperson for Children of the Republic of Mauritius, and distinguished guests from civil society, the tech industry, and various participating organisations.
This landmark event marks a significant step forward in promoting digital governance, innovation, and inclusivity within Mauritius and the wider African region. The Mauritius IGF 2025 serves as a platform for open dialogue on internet governance, bringing together stakeholders from all sectors to explore the future of technology, digital policies, and their societal impact.

The central theme for Mauritius IGF 2025 is “AI, Cybersecurity, and Digital Trust: Pioneering a Secure Future”, which reflects the growing importance of artificial intelligence, online safety, and trust in the digital era. The forum will address pressing issues related to AI integration across sectors, the challenges and solutions surrounding cybersecurity, and how to ensure that digital trust remains a cornerstone for the development of a secure and inclusive digital future.
