Mauritius Internet Governance Forum 2026

The 10th Mauritius Internet Governance Forum (MIGF) will take place in Mauritius from 31 July to 01 August 2026 under the theme: The Future of Artificial Intelligence to Mobilise Political Commitment in Addressing the Challenges Facing Mauritius and Africa”.

This edition of the Forum, as with previous MIGFs, will bring together policymakers, international organisations, the technical community, private sector leaders, academia, civil society, and youth stakeholders to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in advancing sustainable development, digital inclusion and innovation.

Small Island Developing States IGF

Mauritius IGF 2026 will integrate the Dynamic Coalition on Small Island Developing States (DC-SIDS) IGF into the national and regional IGF process, establishing a dedicated platform for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) within the wider United Nations Internet Governance Forum ecosystem.

The Forum will mark the first in-person SIDS-focused Internet Governance engagement in the Indian Ocean region. It aims to strengthen dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge exchange among stakeholders from the Caribbean, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Pacific SIDS regions.

SIDS
The 2026 Forum also represents a historic milestone as the first in-person Internet Governance Forum engagement dedicated to the Indian Ocean Islands region within the broader global IGF framework. The event marks an important step toward strengthening regional ownership, visibility, collaboration, and coordinated participation among island states in global digital policy and Internet Governance discussions.
